About Mihaela Gadjeva

Resilient Scientist

I am a resilient scientist and innovator with 10+ years of experience in biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, and ophthalmology. My expertise lies in drug discovery and development, leveraging omics-driven target identification, biomarker discovery, and mechanism-of-action studies to accelerate therapeutic innovation.

Throughout my career, I have led innovative and translational research discovering small molecule inhibitors, biologics, and RNA-based therapeutics, contributing to the development of novel treatments for inflammatory diseases, infections, cancer, and ocular disorders. My work in ophthalmology has driven advancements in diagnostics and therapeutics. My experience for fostering collaborative innovation has been instrumental in bridging the gap between computational biology, wet lab research, and therapeutics development.


I bring a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex biomedical challenges, integrating spatial and single-cell transcriptomics, immunophenotyping, proteomics, and metabolomics, to uncover novel therapeutic targets. With a strong foundation in preclinical model development, patent strategy, and translational research, I am committed to bridging the gap between discovery and clinical application.
